Martin Miller
Crowded house: Martin Miller’s eclectic taste mirrors a career that encompasses publishing, hotels and the drinks industry
Martin Miller is anything but a minimalist. Walk into his London hotel and you will struggle to find a square inch of space that isn’t occupied by a piece of old furniture, a faded painting or an item of bric-à-brac.

Miller’s love of all things old will come as no surprise to anyone who recognises him as the man behind Miller’s Antiques Price Guide, the annual publication that has become the must-have reference for amateur collectors and dealers alike. What is perhaps surprising, however, is that 63-year-old Miller has never claimed to be an antiques expert – he is just good at having ideas.
