Broking battle heats up

The dogfight for big company brokerage mandates is heating up as rival banks take aim at the clients served by UBS and Bank of America/Merrill Lynch, two market leaders that are perceived to be vulnerable.

Other bulge bracket firms and smaller houses have been actively wooing UBS and Merrill staff and clients, arguing that broader upheaval at both institutions makes them less stable.
