Fund urges BofA to look outside for chief

A Texas fund that owns more than 1m shares in Bank of America on Tuesday renewed its call for the company’s board to look at outside candidates to replace Ken Lewis, the chief executive who plans to step down at the end of the year.

The fund, Finger Interests Number One, warned the company’s board last month that the top inside candidates could be caught up in regulatory probes into the bank’s controversial acquisition of Merrill Lynch.
