Peak in Asia non-finance defaults seen

The rating agency Moody’s forecasts three to five more defaults this year among Asia-Pacific non-financial companies, with default rates reaching a peak in the fourth quarter of this year.

Among high-yield non-financial companies rated by Moody’s, there have already been 10 defaults totalling $3.3bn in the region, excluding Japan, between January and the end of July, it said.
