Fortis offers concessions to aid ABN Amro bid

Fortis has offered concessions to European regulators to win approval for its share of the proposed €71bn ($99bn) break-up bid for ABN Amro.

The Belgo-Dutch group is understood to have proposed structural measures to reduce its share of the Dutch small- and medium-sized business banking market if the ABN Amro deal goes ahead.
