Dollar stabilises on Asian FX appreciation concerns

The under-fire dollar stabilised on Tuesday thanks to a combination of robust US economic data and signs that Asian nations are already becoming worried about the speed of the dollar’s decline.

The key message from the weekend’s meeting of G7 finance ministers was that emerging Asia should be more willing to let its currencies appreciate in order to help reduce global economic imbalances, aka the US current account deficit.
