Sir Dennis Weatherstone changed the face of US and global banking. His death last month from cancer in Connecticut at the age of 77 robs the financial world of one of its wise men.
His was a remarkable journey from modest origins as the son of a London transport clerk to the pinnacle of power on Wall Street as chairman and chief executive of the JPMorgan Bank, the institution with which he spent his entire career, starting as a 16-year-old London bookkeeper.
