India and Pakistan swap nuclear data

India and Pakistan exchanged sensitive nuclear information on Wednesday in a rare conciliatory gesture after the sharp deterioration in relations following the Mumbai terror attacks.

The step followed the personal intervention of George W. Bush, US president, who made new year's eve phone calls to Asif Ali Zardari, Pakistan's president, and Manmohan Singh, India's premier.
