Sony sets the pace with Japan launch in hand-helds

Sony fired the first salvo in its challenge to Nintendo's dominance of the hand-held video games market on Sunday with the launch of Play-Station Portable (PSP) throughout Japan.

Large electronics stores in Tokyo opened their doors earlier than usual, some at 6.55am, as buyers queued, eager to secure one of just 200,000 PSPs.
