Harvey McGrath is chairman of London First, the business campaign group. Well known in the City of London as chief executive (from 1990) and then chairman of Man Group, he retired from that post at the end of last year.

In March, McGrath announced a £4m pledge to Cambridge University to help it broaden outreach programmes encouraging bright students from disadvantaged backgrounds to apply to Cambridge.
