Lombardy leader defends his Iraq record

Roberto Formigoni, governor of the Italian region of Lombardy, said yesterday hehad not benefited financially from the United Nations oil-for-food programme for Iraq and rejected criticism of his involvement in Iraqi affairs.

"I haven't taken a drop of oil or a cent of a dinar," Mr Formigoni told a news conference in Milan.
