Genetic tests stay out of bounds until 2014

Although insurers are using increasingly detailed information to calculate individual insurance rates for customers, there is one set of data they do not include – DNA.

Genetic testing can be used to detect whether individuals carry the genes associated with diseases such as cancer and Alzheimer’s disease, passed on from parents or grandparents.
