New Tory leader shakes up UK politics

Just one month after gaining the leadership of Britain’s opposition Conservative party, David Cameron has galvanised the UK political scene by making his party look human and approachable again.

The Conservatives still have a long way to go before they have any chance of winning power outright at Britain’s next general election, expected in 2009. But in recent weeks, the telegenic 39-year-old has managed to score two clear successes for his party.
