Final round bids for Johnston Press’s Irish newspaper titles are due in early May but valuations have slumped amid deteriorating trading conditions.

The 11 titles, some of which are lossmaking, were expected to raise €80m to €90m ($106m-$120m) when the company put them up for sale earlier this year. But Johnston is now not expected to achieve more than €40m from the sale. The company declined to comment.
