US to promote clean energy technology in Asia

The US government will help Asian economies to use and develop more energy efficient appliances and "clean coal" technology to help the region curtail its emissions of greenhouse gases and attract "green" customers in the west.

A new study by USAid, published yesterday, argued that the wider use of energy-efficient appliances, and the widespread adoption of clean coal technology, could help slow the growth of developing Asian economies' greenhouse gas emissions.
