Cisco says US orders up in fourth quarter

Cisco Systems on Tuesday said that orders for networking equipment by big US companies had strengthened in its fourth fiscal quarter, helping the bellwether technology group surpass Wall Street’s sales and profit forecasts.

Shares in the world’s biggest maker of data networking gear jumped 7 per cent in after hours trading as investors reacted to the news.
