The music industry is extending its fight against online piracy by launching a campaign to alert children and parents to illegal file-sharing, estimated to be costing $2.4bn (£1.3bn) a year in lost sales. Music labels represented by the International Federation for the Phonographic Industry, which has launched lawsuits against pirates in several countries, are targeting families about the potential "pitfalls" of online music.
The IFPI has teamed up with Childnet International, the internet-linked charity, to distribute educational material to parents about file-sharing and online music. Tim Burt, London
