McCreevy turns on the IASB

In the 30 years sinceCharlie McCreevy quit accountancy for politics, the influence wielded by the profession he left has rocketed; so much so that in his latest job as the European Union's internal market commissioner, one of his priorities is to rein in the power wielded by some of his old colleagues.

His focus is on the International Accounting Standards Board, which guards the financial reporting rules that came into force across the EU this year.
