The business stakeholders in Formula One owe quite a debt of gratitude to Lewis Hamilton. The young Briton’s spectacular on-track performances have riveted the world’s attention and kept the commercially all-important global television audiences high.

Just as important they have also diverted public attention from the current off-track shambles surrounding the governance and strategy of F1.
