Supreme Court rejects eavesdropping case

The US Supreme Court on Tuesday handed the Bush administration a victory by refusing to hear a challenge from a civil rights group over its eavesdropping programme.

The American Civil Liberties Union brought the case, which accuses the president, George W. Bush, of breaking the law by permitting the National Security Agency to eavesdrop on US citizens without a court warrant.
