Shoppers lose their shirts

So Chinese inflation is down for the fourth month running. No surprise there: we're importing much of it, if Simon Wolfson of Next is to be believed.

It's not new that British clothing retailers' suppliers are being squeezed by rising energy and wage costs. Next's chief executive started to warn about price increases in March and others, such as Sir Philip Green, who owns Arcadia and BHS, have added their gloomy forecasts.
