Yahoo takes bite at Apple music

Yahoo made its long-awaited entry into the music download market on Tuesday, paying $160m cash for Musicmatch, the company best known for its Jukebox software.

The acquisition comes at a time of frenzied activity as internet and entertainment companies try to catch Apple Computer's iTunes music store, which has won 70 per cent of the legal online download market since it was launched two years ago.
