Karzai says Taliban poses no threat

Afghan President Hamid Karzai insisted on Monday the Taliban posed no threat to his government but admitted the Islamic fundamentalist group remained a menace.

Mr Karzai made the comments after a summit with US President George W. Bush at Camp David, amid mounting concern about the resurgence in the Taliban and al-Qaeda in Afghanistan.
