Cobra chairman sinks fangs into higher taxes

Higher taxes on wealth creators risked sending the economy into a "downward spiral" that would set Britain back more than 20 years to when it was the sick man of Europe, one of the country's leading entrepreneurs warned yesterday.

The concern voiced by Lord Bilimoria, chairman of Cobra Beer, came as the government was told to "get its act together" in promoting pro-business policies at the British Chamber of Commerce's annual convention in Birmingham.
