Ireland raises €7bn with 15-year bonds

Ireland has launched its longest-dated bond to date in a sign of the strength of the sovereign new issue market, in spite of record amounts of government debt.

The country raised €7bn in 15-year fixed-rate bonds as it took advantage of the dramatic narrowing of yield spreads since the summer.
