Hips for three-bed properties

Home information packs will become compulsory for three-bedroom houses from September 10, the government said on Friday, drawing immediate attacks from critics of the scheme.

The scheme is designed to make house sales faster and more efficient by requiring homeowners putting their property on the market to pay for a pack containing an energy-rating for the property and basic legal information such as searches.
