Pardoned teacher returns from Sudan

Gillian Gibbons, the British teacher jailed in Sudan for letting her pupils name a teddy bear Mohammed, returned to the UK on Tuesday after receiving a pardon from the Sudanese president.

After several days of intense efforts by British diplomats and prominent British Muslims, Sudanese authorities on Monday gave Ms Gibbons early release from a 15-day sentence.
