Investment team still key at Barclays despite fund closure

When companies close their final salary pension schemes, they know to expect a few pointed comments in their direction. But when that company is a bank with a profile as high as Barclays’, the opprobrium can reach fever pitch.

When the bank announced the closure of its scheme to future accruals by 18,000 members in April, the union’s reaction was predictable.
