Profits at studio fall despite Kung Fu Panda hit

DreamWorks Animation’s Kung Fu Panda is on course to be its best-performing non-sequel, though the film about a bear that dreams of being a martial arts hero failed to prevent a sharp fall in quarterly profits.

Profits and revenues almost halved in the second quarter compared with the same period in 2007 because of the success last year of Shrek the Third.
