FDA review hits Allergan

Allergan's shares fell yesterday after US drugs regulators opened a safety review and sparked renewed questions on its key product Botox, a toxin used to treat facial wrinkles.

The Food and Drug Administration said its review was based on side- effects reported for "treatment of a variety of conditions" and doses of products including Botox, Botox Cosmetic and Myobloc.
