Britain heading for full recession, warns the IMF

The UK is likely to slide into a full-blown recession, with the financial crisis, debt burdens and a crumpling housing market threatening an even sharper downturn, the International Monetary Fund has warned.

In a gloomy forecast, the fund said the worldwide financial crisis would drive down global economic growth to its lowest since 2002, with a big risk it would drop even further.
