Betfair, the online sports betting exchange, is making its first foray into the financial markets, investing £10m to launch a binaries trading exchange and traditional financial spread betting.

The two products are the first offerings of Tradefair, a company regulated by the Financial Services Authority that has been developed by Betfair's venture capital arm.
