Miliband to offer Russia an olive branch

David Miliband will make the first visit by a foreign secretary to Russia for five years in a fresh attempt by London and Moscow next month to rekindle their often difficult bilateral ­relationship.

The Financial Times has learnt that Mr Miliband’s visit to Moscow will take place on November 2. Acc­or­ding to Russian sources, it will be the first time a foreign secretary has visited Moscow since a trip by Jack Straw in July 2004.
