Katrina helps heal rift in Mississippi

When Haley Barbour, governor of Mississippi, was looking for someone to help him plan the state's reconstruction following Hurricane Katrina, Jim Barksdale, the former chief executive of Netscape, seemed an unlikely candidate.

The two men, both natives of the Gulf state, have been at loggerheads since finding themselves on opposite sides of the US government's epic antitrust case against Microsoft in the late 1990s.
