How about some flexibility on European issues?

Sir, As Martin Wolf notes (April 20), the Group of Seven said in its communiqué that "we emphasise that more flexibility in exchange rates is desirable for major countries and areas that lack such flexibility to promote smooth and widespread adjustments in the international financial system, based on market mechanisms".
