New Look’s mark-up too high

For just £2.50, shoppers at New Look can buy a child’s T-shirt with “Big Trouble” emblazoned across the chest.

In spite of a deserved reputation for value, the fashion chain’s own sale has itself been troubled and, on Monday night it was abandoned, after bidders baulked at a £1.8bn tag set by owners Permira and Apax Partners.
