IPPR suggests private right to copy music

Users of MP3 players and other personal electronic equipment should be allowed to copy music for private use without breaking the law, an influential think-tank will recommend today.

The Institute for Public Policy Research will suggest that the UK copyright regime should be changed, so that a "private right to copy" is introduced. This, it says, should allow individuals to make copies of CDs or DVDs for personal use.
