Icelanders turn up the heat on Elisa

Flush with cash and cheap credit, Iceland’s entrepreneurs have in recent years developed a reputation for assertive risk-taking that has contrasted with some of the more consensual traditions of Nordic corporate behaviour.

An escalating dispute between Elisa, Finland’s oldest telephone company, and Novator, representing the confident new face of Icelandic capitalism, symbolises this change.
