Aid agencies are struggling to reach many remote areas devastated by Saturday’s earthquake. With over 30,000 people killed, the 7.6 magnitude quake is the worst to hit the region since 1935. Muzaffarabad, capital of Pakistani Kashmir, saw 70 per cent of its buildings destroyed. Pakistan’s President Pervez Musharraf appealed for international aid. Individual donations can be made to the World Food Programme.
