On Tuesday, January 29, the FT presents its first US photography auction in association with Christie’s, New York.
The sale marks the finale of the FT’s Seasonal Appeal 2012-13 in aid of The Global Fund for Children.
Iconic works on offer range from the 1950s to the present: “Ali versus The Beatles”, a signed limited-edition print by Chris Smith, which raised £12,000 ($19,300) at the FT Seasonal Appeal’s London launch in November 2012; Steve McCurry’s stunning “Boy in Mid-Flight, 2007”, which sold at Christie’s, New York, for £13,000 ($21,000); a signed limited edition of “Barack Obama III” by Nadav Kander, recently published on the cover of Time magazine, and many more.
