Financial Times today announced the appointment of Brian Groom as UK Business and Employment Editor and Associate Editor, Caroline Daniel as Assistant Editor and Comment and Analysis Editor and Martin Sandbu as Economics Leader Writer.
In his new role as UK Business and Employment Editor Brian Groom will lead a nationwide team of UK reporters, increasing the FT’s coverage in a rapidly changing business climate. He will be based in London and continue to write his weekly Notebook column. Prior to his appointment, Groom spent four years as FT’s Comment and Analysis Editor and before that he was the editor of the Europe edition, Political Editor and Regional Editor.
As Comment and Analysis editor Caroline Daniel will be responsible for the overall coverage on the comment and analysis pages in FT’s weekly edition, in FT Weekend and on FT.com, and her appointment as assistant editor reflects an increased level of managerial responsibilities. Previously Daniel spent two years as FT’s Comment Editor and before that she was the White House Correspondent, based in Washington D.C.
Martin Sandbu has joined the Financial Times as Economics Leader Writer. With a Ph.D in Political Economy and Government from Harvard University, Sandbu moves from New York to London to join the team which covers editorial opinion pieces in the Financial Times.
