Power Dressing: Brian Sawyer

It’s not about the latest colour or style, it’s about solid design

Jacket by Boglioli

I love their jackets. They look good with jeans or casual trousers too. I’m really interested in the material; to me, it’s just as important what things are made of and how they’re made as what they look like.

Shirt by Scoop

Ordinarily, I’d have my shirts custom-made but I came across these and they fit so perfectly and the fabric was so good that I bought a dozen white and a dozen blue. How I dress has to reassure the client. We don’t do things that will be out of style in a few years. It’s not about the latest colour or style, it’s about solid design.

Jeans by Levi’s

I’m much more comfortable in jeans. I always keep it formal on the top but am not worried about getting dust on my jeans or tearing them while on site.

Boots by Alden

Alden’s Cordovan boots, which are what I almost always wear, look good, serve a certain purpose and you can dress them up or down.

Tie by Ralph Lauren

This cashmere tie was a gift and looks great with my three favourite winter sport coats. I have basically six ties that I love and buy over and over.

Watch by Rolex

This Explorer model is very masculine and the most attractive Rolex.

Pocket square by Charvet

It’s the one piece of a man’s wardrobe you can be a little outrageous with, because you can show as much or as little as you like in your pocket.

Pug

Alice was given to me by my office last Christmas and has become a fixture both in my life and in the office as our mascot. She’s an adorable little pug. She and I have become very good friends.
