David Watkinson ‘Light’ sculpture, £4,400

David Watkinson’s new sculpture ‘Light’ will appear at Chelsea this year. The blades of the sculpture are made from stainless steel, while the base is oxidised steel. The 2.4 metre sculpture is designed to capture the enigmatic nature of light – something that allows us to see but is invisible on its own.

Mökki shelter, prices from £19,090

Named after the Finnish word for “shed”, the Mökki, designed by Gerd Couckhuyt for Belgian furniture company Forest Avenue, is inspired by Scandinavian garden huts. Its polyethylene weave, hand-woven around a 5m x 3m powder-coated steel frame, is designed to withstand temperature extremes, while offering the perfect cosy retreat. The synthetic fibre is natural-looking, colour-fast and comes in black and brown.

Meconopsis ‘Sichuan Silk’, £15

Harperley Hall Farm Nurseries’ unusual Chelsea introduction is raised from wild seeds collected in Tibet by Scottish alpine plantsman Ian Christie and first flowered in 2005. The striking 50cm flower, which was awarded a preliminary commendation by the joint RHS and Scottish Rock Garden Club in 2012, has coral-red, pendant silk petals.
