Black Country Communion

2

(Mascot)

Following solo excursions into funk, former Deep Purple bassist/vocalist Glenn Hughes had a Spinal Tap-esque epiphany when he woke up from a dream one day. “I’m going to go back to rock,” he said to himself – and lo, on Black Country Communion’s second album he does just that, teaming up with blues-rock axeman Joe Bonamassa and John Bonham’s drummer son Jason for an unabashedly old-fashioned but muscular set of 1970s hard rockers, including the perfectly judged Led Zeppelin tribute “Smokestack Woman”.
