Having scraped the barrel with the awful first posthumous Michael Jackson album Michael, Xscape’s starry producers (Timbaland, Rodney Jerkins) trick demos and outtakes of Jackson’s breathy, yowling vocals into plausible R&B and funk.
Too sketchy to qualify as proper songs but full of supple grooves, like superior filler from an album never made.
