The Financial Times won the UK based Association of Online Publishers (AOP) award for best mobile site at a prestigious ceremony held on Tuesday night in London.
The judges said that the new m.ft.com, launched earlier this year, was “clear, clean, easy to use, with good use of personalisation while staying true to the brand”. They concluded that overall it was “a thoroughly effective mobile site”. The judges also praised how the site was optimised for a range of handsets with different interfaces for touch screen and non-touch screen phones combined with automatic reformatting for different screen sizes. Commercially, they were impressed with how the web and mobile were increasingly integrated, while personalised content was delivered to the user without the need to log in.
