Blind Note

Blind Note

(Muziek Publique)

The cream of Belgium’s world music scene unite for this disc to support blind children. In concert they play in absolute darkness; listened to in the same way, the album slowly responds to attention.

The trademark sound is Vardan Hovanissian’s duduk, the melancholy Armenian flute, combining with Malick Pathé Sow’s African lute, the hoddu. Talike Gelle, from Madagascar, sings hauntingly.
