Stella Feehily’s play is a timely piece of agit-prop for the preservation of the National Health Service. One major inspiration was the experience of her partner, director Max Stafford-Clark, when he was treated for a stroke, and Stafford-Clark deploys his wealth of expertise at shaping research material into drama.

The play makes an articulate case, centring on a middle-class family played by Brian Protheroe and Stephanie Cole, in two tightly packed hours of dynamic, urgent theatre.
