Sarah Dixon is to leave the Bradford University School of Management in December to head for China, where she will be dean of the re-branded XJTLU Business School, a joint venture between Xi’an Jiaotong University and Liverpool University. The Chinese business school was set up in 2006.

Dr Dixon has been dean at Bradford for just two years. Before joining the school, she taught at the University of Bath and prior to that worked for Shell for 23 years in a variety of roles including strategic planning and mergers and acquisitions. She also worked held in expatriate postings in Austria and Russia.

Recently- appointed deputy dean Jon Reast will head the Bradford school until Dr Dixon’s replacement is in place.

Suzhou is rapidly becoming a hotspot for Western-style management education. Skema, the French business school, also has facilities on Suzhou’s Industrial Park, as does the Fuqua school, part of Duke University, from Durham North Carolina.
