This Norwegian art-folk summit meeting between singers Jenny Hval and Susanna Wallumrød takes inspiration from the Ukrainian-born film-maker Maya Deren (“A Mirror In My Mouth”) and from Greek mythology.
Hval’s high voice and Wallumrød’s low one mesh uneasily; zither and double bass and electronic noises further unsettle the soundscape.
“I am the heir of breasts and fire”, sings the Medusa. “Custard fills the air.”
